The Caloundra Chamber of Commerce have pledged their support to the SEA Caloundra mixed use development application set to be lodged to the Sunshine Coast Council which would enable the development of a 5,289m2 site on Bulcock Street.

The first development of its kind in Caloundra for over decade, this project signifies a major milestone for the southern end of the Sunshine Coast and Caloundra more specifically.

Business leader and long-term President of the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce Michael Shadforth says that the SEA Caloundra development represents an enormous opportunity for Caloundra but he is not at all surprised by the announcement.

“Caloundra is a town in transition right now, as we are experiencing unprecedented growth and development, so it is not surprising that Bulcock Street is starting to gain this kind of attention.”  Michael Shadforth said.

“There is a lot of momentum in Caloundra right now, and we at the Caloundra Chamber believe this is the perfect time and place for such an exceptionally designed project such as this.

“The flow-on benefits of a project of this size are far-reaching from a local business point of view with the effects to be felt through increased employment opportunities, an enhanced tourism offering and the bolstering of our major events capabilities.

This project is the result of sustained collaboration with community members and will greatly contribute to the region’s existing tourism infrastructure by increasing the town’s high-quality accommodation offering.

“We believe that this project’s design mirrors the attitudes and ideals of Caloundra locals who understand the importance of considered development and the need to integrate with the town.”

“Expecting to generate $347.4 million during construction and contribute an additional $73.7 million into the local economy annually the broader economic value of this project is quite clear.”
