Brewing up Niche Food Offerings
While the Sunshine Coast is best known for its pristine coastline and golden sand beaches, a growing list of modern niche food and beverage outlets are quickly proving the quality of our hospitality and agribusiness sector.
With the rise of micro-breweries from Noosa into the Hinterland and through to Caloundra, internationally competitive café’s such as Lamkin Lane, phenomenon’s such as One Block Back in Moffat Beach and a cluster of options in the Ocean Street Precinct there is plenty to choose from.
Businesses such as these, that are brave enough to steer away from traditional formats and flavours, pave their own way and create high-quality food and beverage offerings are making a splash well beyond our area.
In particular, I would like to congratulate the young entrepreneurs and Caloundra locals Matt Hepburn and Christen McGarry behind the craft beer brewing company Your mates.
These two braved the panel of investors on Shark Tank, believed in their business model and refused to accept a bad deal.
This experience launched their profile across Australia and gave them the confidence to get back out there, find the investment they needed and open the doors to their brand-new Brewhouse in Warana.
This is an incredible achievement for them and the Sunshine Coast as there business will really add to the distinct character and personality of our region and leave a much more profound impact on our tourists.
The Caloundra Chamber hosted the first event of the year at Your Mates Brewhouse for 2019 and we can guarantee the quality of the food, the service, the venue and their beer.
Do yourself a favour and check it out for yourselves.
